Working Together
-
Lumora Wealth Management LLC is a fee-only registered investment advisory (RIA) firm based in Melrose, MA. We provide personalized financial planning and investment management services to individuals, families, and business owners—primarily in the healthcare and technology industries. While we serve clients across the U.S., our focus is on professionals living north of Boston. Our mission is to empower clients to align their wealth with their values and long-term goals.
-
You’ll work directly with Mark Duffy, CFA, our founder, who has spent over a decade advising institutional investors and managing portfolios across asset classes. He brings a personal touch to each client relationship.
-
You can choose between a free 15-minute intro call or a 60-minute strategy session—whichever best fits your needs.
The 15-minute call is ideal if you're considering a full financial plan or ongoing investment management.
The 60-minute session is a paid, standalone meeting for targeted advice on specific topics.
If it’s a mutual fit, we’ll send over a service agreement and help you get set up through our secure client portal.
-
It depends on the service tier you choose.
For investment management (AUM) clients, we provide ongoing financial planning and portfolio reviews. This includes 24/7 concierge-level client access.
For flat-fee financial planning clients, the engagement includes a comprehensive plan and up to three 30-minute follow-up calls, plus email support between meetings to ensure clarity and momentum.
Regardless of tier, our goal is to be accessible and responsive when it matters most.
-
We work virtually with clients across Massachusetts, and in person with those in the Greater Boston area. Many clients appreciate the flexibility of remote meetings via secure video calls.
-
Many of our clients come to us after a disappointing experience with sales-driven or commission-based advisors. We take the time to listen, rebuild trust, and create a relationship rooted in transparency, education, and your best interests—never pressure.

With so many financial designations out there, it can be confusing. Here’s a clear breakdown:
Mark James Duffy, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and rigorous credentials in investment management. According to Investopedia, each of the CFA program’s three levels requires over 300 hours of study and has pass rates below 50%, covering advanced topics like economics, portfolio management, ethics, and quantitative methods.
A recent Financial Times letter described the CFA program as a “merit-based” gold standard—spanning both public and private markets.
Mark passed all three CFA exams on the first attempt and earned his charter in 2018 while working as a research analyst on the buy-side.
While the CFA charter is most common among asset managers and institutional professionals, it’s relatively rare in personal financial planning: according to Kaplan Schweser, only 5% of CFA charterholders work as financial advisors.
Mark has also completed the Capstone course and work experience requirements to sit for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) exam, which he plans to take soon. He remains immersed in the CFP curriculum and planning frameworks.
With the CFA charter, a master’s in finance, and advanced training in CFP Board principles, Mark offers clients both deep investment insight and comprehensive financial planning expertise. He is committed to lifelong learning and staying current with the latest academic and industry developments.
